Full Description: The diverse landscape of the Peak District National Park attracts an equally diverse profusion of wildlife. There are nature reserves throughout the region and numerous opportunities to learn about the local wildlife.

The High Peak Estate is full of hidden treasures and rare wildlife including the golden plover and mountain hare. The Upper Derwent Valley is a unique place for wildlife and many shy and uncommon species such as the sandpiper and goshawk can be found here.

The carvings on the biodiversity pole at Fairholmes depict the rich variety of natural wildlife found in the Upper Derwent. Visitors can also visit the wildlife parks and animal farms found throughout the region.
